A shared household app bringing the daily plan, chores, shopping, calendar and meals into one place.

How can two people keep chores, shopping, events and meals in sync without treating each part of home life as a separate app?

03 / Design rationale

Design is decision.

How the working app brings daily tasks into one clear flow.

Decision 01Daily focus

Alternative: A dashboard giving every module the same weight would make the first screen busy.
Direction: Lead with today’s plan, then show quick actions and the next few days.
Why it matters: The first screen answers what matters now before asking the user to choose a section.

Decision 02Shared navigation

Alternative: Separate flows for every household task would add repeated steps.
Direction: Use five stable sections, a persistent mobile navigation bar and quick add actions.
Why it matters: Shopping, chores, calendar and meals stay close at hand across the app.

Decision 03Visual tone

Alternative: A dense utility interface would make everyday planning feel like administration.
Direction: Combine warm translucent surfaces, a calm green lead color and small accents for each area.
Why it matters: The interface keeps its domestic character while each section remains recognisable.

A closer look.

The mobile interface keeps the five main destinations within thumb reach. Each section uses the same card language, while the daily plan stays visually strongest on the home screen. The new shared-doorway mark is an archive cover for this case.

Result / Outcome

The working product.

A working two-profile web app built with Next.js and Supabase, including shared updates, an installable PWA, meal planning and a recipe assistant. The screenshots show demo or generic views; no usage results are claimed.
